Gripe all you want about Rye’s preponderance of boho art space - original art, prints, scents and ceramics – but when it’s done right, it’s a knockout formula. Taking over the ground floor of this iconic Rye building Strand House  (c1754)  Rye is a local rarity: a knowingly ‘cool’ vibehouse and bossing it from within the dual-fronted span  is gallery magus Wendy Bowker. It replicates it's former Rye incarnations with ingenious gallery space and presents a more casual, less intense place. A shimmering space to see and be seen, with stunning colour-washed decor so pitch perfect that it could be a movie set and indeed hosted George Clooney’s Monument Men, Black Mirror. ​
