Paris Tooraji is a contemporary abstract artist of Iranian origin who brings a unique blend of graphic design expertise and artistic passion to his captivating large-scale paintings. Currently living and working in England, Paris has cultivated a diverse creative background. His experience encompasses a successful career in graphic design and a deep understanding of furniture design, both of which uniquely inform his artistic approach. This allows him to seamlessly translate ideas and emotions into compelling visual narratives. Born on 7 January 1978, in Shiraz, Iran – a city steeped in history and renowned for its fine wines, poetry, and literature – Paris displayed an indescribable passion for art from a young age. The tips of his crayons danced on paper, and colours came alive under his touch. However, his family, who dreamt of him becoming a doctor, did not support his artistic inclinations. Despite this, Paris, with a rebellious and freedom-loving spirit, never gave up on his dream of becoming an artist. In his youth, his warm and captivating voice led him to music; he learned to play the violin and sang in a choir. It was there, amidst fellow singers and an atmosphere filled with melody and harmony, that he met Marigold. A first-year graphic design student, Marigold was familiar with the world of colours and forms and was quickly captivated by Paris's talent and passion for art. This encounter marked the beginning of a deep love and artistic partnership. They supported each other's growth and development through the exchange of artistic knowledge and experiences. From 2005 to 2010, Paris, alongside his wife Marigold, co-founded and led Sayeh Advertising Agency. As the agency's graphic designer, he spearheaded the creation of visual assets for a wide range of advertising campaigns, spanning print, digital media, and branding. His collaborative approach ensured that each project exceeded client expectations. However, fate had other plans. In 2010, Marigold and Paris sought refuge in England, hoping to escape the political and ideological turmoil of their homeland. But seeking asylum was hard and robbed them of their peace. The agonizing wait for residency, the fear of deportation, and the uncertainty took a toll on them. The bitter memories of those days remain fresh and painful. Despite these challenges, with Marigold's encouragement, Paris never abandoned his art. He used his life experiences, both bitter and sweet, to create works that reflected his wounded yet resilient spirit, rooted in his artistic flair and experience. In these pieces, colours dance with passion and energy, and abstract forms speak of life's complexities and contradictions. Paris portrays his emotions and experiences with honesty and artistic expression, using vibrant colours and dynamic lines to invite the viewer on a journey into a world of mystery and imagination. With Marigold's unwavering support and his own boundless love and passion, Paris continues his artistic journey. Once forced to silence his art, he now creates with renewed vigour and confidence. With each new piece, he takes a step towards artistic mastery and self-expression. His works are not only a reflection of his artistic spirit but also an inspiration to others to pursue their dreams and achieve self-fulfilment. They named their new business 'Paris Modern Art.'
